Craft, Precision and Place: The Story Behind Our Collaboration with F. Beesley

Craft, Precision and Place: The Story Behind Our Collaboration with F. Beesley

From Chelsea to the Scottish Borders, this is a story of shared values, considered design, and enduring British craft.

Earlier this year, the teams at F. Beesley and London Gun Co. approached us with a unique commission: bespoke garments to wear for the Glorious Twelfth. They needed pieces that reflected tradition, held up in the field, and carried the quiet confidence of timeless style.

We began with the foundation of any great shooting garment, the cloth. That meant travelling north to Hawick, home to the world-renowned Lovat Mill. Situated on the banks of the River Teviot, this historic mill is widely considered the home of tweed. Together with Lovat’s designers, our bespoke team and the F. Beesley team developed a completely new tweed, a pattern designed to speak to heritage, performance, and place.

“We approached this cloth with both performance and elegance in mind. Woven in Scotland and tailored in our Chelsea workrooms, it represents the best of what emerges when true craft meets collaboration.” - Kristian Ferner Robson, Founder, Oliver Brown.

Cut in the newly designed cloth, we tailored a field coat, gilet and plus-fours for their team. Every detail was refined through the lens of function: bellows pockets for capacity, pleats for movement, suede trims for durability.

“This collaboration celebrates British heritage and shared values: tradition, precision, and craftsmanship. Partnering with Oliver Brown has felt entirely natural. We’re proud to unveil our exclusive F. Beesley tweed for the Glorious Twelfth, and we look forward to many more projects together.” -  Miles Orford, F. Beesley

The resulting cloth, now known as the Highland Club Check, made such an impression that we’ve carried it forward into a new limited edition ready-to-wear collection.

Launching mid August in limited numbers, the collection includes a gilet, jacket, pleated trousers and breeks, all cut in the exclusive Highland Club Check.

This is British fieldwear made with purpose. Designed to endure. Tailored for tradition. And built to last.

The limited edition collection is available from mid August in-store at:
