Wimbledon Style Guide 2025 for Men
Each summer, Wimbledon returns not only as the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament but as a true highlight in the British social calendar - where tradition, etiquette, and sartorial flair come together courtside.
While there is no strict dress code for general ticket holders, making the right impression matters. Attendees - particularly those in Centre Court or Court No. 1, are expected to reflect the elegance of the occasion with smart, polished attire. Think of it as an opportunity to bring your best, with a respectful nod to British style.
From classic blazers to linen suits, we’ll help you navigate the unspoken codes of Wimbledon style, and ensure you strike the perfect balance between comfort and refinement, while being suited to the unpredictability of a British summer.

The Royal Box

The Royal Box, which has been reserved for the “entertainment of friends and guests of Wimbledon since 1922”, is the one area where a formal dress code is observed. Men are required to wear a suit and tie, while women should dress modestly and with elegance. Hats are discouraged, as they tend to obscure the vision of those seated behind them.
Attendance is by invitation only, and this box is often graced by members of the Royal family, with the Prince and Princess of Wales amongst its regular attendees. Over the years, the Royal Box has also hosted an array of stars including Julia Roberts, David Beckham, Sir David Attenborough, Keira Knightley and Tom Cruise.
If you’re fortunate enough to be invited to the Royal Box, or simply wish to emulate its standard, a tailored, lightweight suit is essential. New this season, our Eaton Suit in Light Blue Solbiati Linen would be perfect for the occasion. Crafted from the finest Italian linen, this suit combines timeless elegance with breathable comfort - ideal for a long summer’s day courtside. Complete the look with our new Shantung Pure Silk Tie in a refined navy and white stripe.
Benedict Cumberbatch was seen wearing a light blue suit to the Royal Box last year and looked spot on, so we recommend following his lead!
For those who prefer something more classic and understated, our Eaton Suit in Plain Navy is another excellent choice for the event. Versatile and effortlessly smart, its a go-to for any occasion that calls for quiet confidence.
For those seated on Centre Court or Court No.1, where a polished appearance is still very much expected, we recommend a smart-casual ensemble. Our Linen Eaton Jackets and Single Breasted Navy Blazer are classic buys, paired with our Brompton Chinos, for a look that strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and refined. Alternatively, our Flat Front Linen Trousers are a great option, and come in an array of colours, from cobalt blue to sage green and classic navy - making it easy to find the perfect match for your jacket.
Opt for a shirt that complements the suit. Our Amalfi Linen Shirts are lightweight, breathable, and ideal for keeping you cool and comfortable throughout each tournament. Available in three shades of blue alongside classic white, they perfectly capture the spirit of the season, and the (hopefully) blue skies above the court.
As always, we suggest checking the weather beforehand. Even in high summer, London can be unpredictable, so opt for layered looks, and pack a lightweight waterproof and umbrella if the weather calls for it.
If you’re seated on one of the outer courts, and are after something a touch more relaxed but still stylish, consider our new Pointelle Polo Shirt. A staple in every gentleman’s spring/summer wardrobe, this shirt is beautifully crafted from a blend of cotton, silk and cashmere. Available in light grey, navy and maya blue, this polo can be dressed up with a pair of our Brushed Cotton Jeans, or worn more casually with our Chino Shorts (if the weather is in our favour.)
Complete your outfit with accessories that speak to the spirit of summer. Our SS25 collection of pocket squares and ties features light, floral prints that add subtle volume to your look. To protect yourself from the sun, our Classic Panama Hat offers both elegance and practicality - and of course, no summer ensemble is complete without a pair of sunglasses!
Our new Penny Loafers, created in partnership with Joseph Cheaney, provide the final touch. Thoughtfully unstructured and crafted in luxuriously soft leather, these loafers offer all-day comfort without compromising on style - the perfect companion for Wimbledon.
What To Avoid?
While Wimbledon’s general dress code is not strictly enforced for most attendees, there are still important considerations to keep in mind. Ripped jeans, shorts, tracksuits, sportswear, flip-flops, and football shirts are all strongly discouraged, as they fall short of the event’s smart standards.
Likewise, avoid clothing featuring large logos, overt political messaging, or overly bold patterns - Wimbledon is a setting where understated elegance is always preferred. When in doubt, lean towards the classic, refined, and respectful - it’s part of the tradition.
Wimbledon is more than a tennis tournament, it’s a celebration of British tradition and timeless style. Whether you find yourself in the Royal Box, Centre Court, or watching from the outer courts, follow our style guide and you’ll be impeccably dressed to impress!
