Our Mills: From Mill to Morning Wear
The distinction of morning dress lies not only in its cut, but in the cloth itself. For our silk waistcoats, we turn to mills with a deep understanding of silk — its lustre, its structure and the way it holds colour in changing light. Each partnership reflects generations of expertise, ensuring fabrics chosen for their richness, integrity and quiet confidence in formal dress.

Bennett Silks
Founded in 1904 by William Henry Bennett in Manchester — the historic heart of Britain’s textile industry — Bennett Silks brings over a century of expertise to silk. Now led by the fifth generation, the mill is regarded as the UK’s leading creator of silk fabrics, known particularly for its exceptional plain silks.
Today, alongside long-standing global sourcing relationships, Bennett Silks works closely with established weaving partners in Europe. Their partnership with Lyon’s historic silk industry further strengthens this approach, ensuring British heritage is complemented by European craftsmanship and technical precision.

Silk Herringbone for Morning Waistcoats
In our double breasted morning waistcoats, this expertise is expressed through a refined silk herringbone — a weave that brings gentle texture and depth to formal dressing.
The palette draws on the tones of an sunny summer garden: lilac, fern green, pale blue, coral pink and sunflower yellow. Elevated yet quietly joyful, each colour is chosen to complement traditional morning dress while offering subtle individuality.
Designed for weddings, Royal Ascot and distinguished summer occasions, these double-breasted waistcoats are finished with Mother of Pearl buttons by Bottonificio Padano.

Huddersfield Fine Worsted
Huddersfield Fine Worsted’s heritage stretches back to the nineteenth century, with roots in the Yorkshire cloth trade and formal establishment in 1890. Since the 1930s the company has held the Royal Warrant for the supply of cloth to the Royal Household.
Today, Huddersfield Fine Worsted remains an internationally renowned fabric manufacturer and cloth merchant, supplying many of the world’s leading design and tailoring houses.
Summer Breeze: Wool, Linen and Silk
Inspired by the relaxed refinement of English summer dressing, our trio of Summer Breeze waistcoats are cut from a lightweight blend of tropical wool, silk and linen. Woven by Huddersfield Fine Worsted, the cloth combines breathability with gentle structure and fine colour.
Available in pale pink, light sage and pale blue, the palette draws on the tones of an English garden — hydrangea, rose and soft sage leaf. Designed for warm-weather weddings, garden parties and summer occasions, these double-breasted waistcoats pair effortlessly with our Ascot Grey Super Lightweight Morning Suit or the Two Piece Morning Suit in Dormeuil Navy, adding subtle colour to beautifully cut silhouettes. Each is finished with Mother of Pearl buttons by Bottonificio Padano, made in Italy.
