Our Mills: Lightweight Linens
The character of a garment begins with the cloth. For our spring and summer pieces, we look to mills with a deep understanding of linen — its structure, its breathability and its quiet elegance. From Italy to Ireland, each mill we work with brings generations of expertise to fabrics chosen for their integrity, refinement and performance in warmer weather.
Italian Linen: The Heritage Behind the Amalfi Shirt
Few fabrics evoke the ease of Mediterranean summer quite like Italian linen — lightweight, breathable and quietly refined.
The linen used in our Amalfi shirt is woven by Vitale Barberis Canonico, founded in 1663 in Piedmont and family-owned for over three centuries. Renowned for clarity of colour, and enduring quality, the mill interprets classic fabrics with balance and ease — qualities reflected in a shirt designed to move effortlessly from coast to city.
While linen defines much of summer dressing, tailoring in warmer months often calls for additional structure. For this, we also turn to Vitale Barberis Canonico’s lightweight wool-linen blends. Used in our summer jackets and selected summer suits, this cloth combines the breathability of linen with the resilience and drape of fine wool.

Irish Linen: The Fabric Behind the Eaton Suit
Few fabrics carry the quiet authority of Irish linen. Woven with precision and known for its strength, breathability and character, it has long been associated with refined summer tailoring.
The linen used in our Eaton suit is woven by Spence Bryson, founded in 1885 in Portadown at the heart of Northern Ireland’s historic linen region. Now part of Ulster Weavers, the mill continues to represent the very best of Irish linen craftsmanship — cloth prized for its clarity, strength and natural elegance.
Our summer tailoring centres on two interpretations of this linen: Lismore and Lismore Twill. Lismore is a classic plain weave — crisp, breathable and structured — forming the foundation of the Eaton Jacket and Flat Front Trousers in Cobalt Blue, Navy and Stone. Lismore Twill, with its softer handle and subtle diagonal weave, offers a more relaxed drape in our Lightweight Washed Irish Linen Suits in Sand and Burgundy.
