Among the rarest and most luxurious natural fibres in the world, Escorial wool is often described as cashmere’s secret cousin. Once reserved for the Spanish royal family and bred exclusively at El Escorial Palace, the sheep remain among the most precious in existence, now found only in small flocks in Australia and New Zealand.
Its remarkable qualities come from a unique, spring-like crimp in each superfine fibre (15–19 microns), which gives natural elasticity, a fluid drape, and impressive resistance to creasing.
